We are pleased to announce that Patricia L. Mulvey, LMSW, C-ASWCM, Geriatric Care Consultant, will be the guest speaker and will talk about the "Eldercare & The Aging Parent/Client” at our “members only” breakfast meeting on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., at the U.S. Trust Offices located at One Gorham Island, 2^nd Floor, in Westport.

After a long career in real estate related activities ranging from sales, management, corporate relocation, and developing broker networks, Pat found the work she loves by volunteering with the elderly. Pat’s advanced degrees and passion led her to her role as a Geriatric Care Manager. Pat works with individuals and their families, to help people negotiate systems, fulfill their wishes of moving to alternative living facilities and/or remaining at home with appropriate care. Most importantly, she assists with enabling people to live their final years as they wish. Pat has developed programs in corporate Elder Care environments and worked with individuals to help them age well, with dignity and quality to their lives. She received her BA in Gerontology from Lehman College and her MS in Social Work from Columbia University School of Social Work. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the National Professional Geriatric Care Management Association.

Pat will share best practices on how she specifically has helped clients face the end of their lives realistically, getting the services they want and navigating the health care system on their terms. She will discuss the process of assessing where a client & family is when they bring in a geriatric care manager, and how, together, people deal with the extremely difficult time in their lives - facing mortality.
