This discussion will provide an overview and comparison of various types of popular "estate freeze" transactions that are implemented by estate planners to provide the due objectives of providing some form of cash flow to the grantor while at the same time shifting future appreciation to the next generation of beneficiaries. There are different "flavors" of freeze transactions each of which have relative pros and cons. This presentation will explore the different aspects of each of these transactions and provide some historical context and practical considerations.
