Breakfast Meeting: Lessons Learned From the First Adjudicated Lawsuit Regarding Trust Owned Life Ins

We are pleased to announce that Steven Zeiger, CEBS, NFP National Madison, will be the guest speaker at our “members only” breakfast meeting on Wednesday, November 9, 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.,at The Westport Library.

Mr. Zeiger will explore how estate planning professionals can use AICPA Accepted Life Insurance Pricing and Performance Research in their practices. Attorneys, Accountants, Insurance Agents, Family Offices, among others, are able to use this information with their clients--the only independent research available in the marketplace concerning life insurance. The information has been awarded two patents and is, therefore, publicly available for anyone to use. He will discuss his presentation to the ABA about "lessons learned from the first fiduciary lawsuit regarding trust owned life insurance." This is the Cochran vs. KeyBank case that was featured in Trust & Estates magazine’s December issue. He will analyze the case using the independent research mentioned above and will also touch upon planning opportunities utilizing this research.

Steven Zeiger joined NFP National Madison in 2011 to help provide advanced life insurance design and analysis services. Formerly a Managing Director of a well-known New York City financial services firm, Mr. Zeiger is an expert in trust-owned life insurance and is a highly sought out lecturer to attorneys, CPAs, family offices, asset managers and trust officers. He specializes in training such professionals and providing access to a TOLI process endorsed by both the New York Bankers Association and the New Jersey Bankers Association. Mr. Zeiger has been selected for the National Association of Estate Planning Councils (NAEPC) Speakers Bureau. Some of his credits include interviews with the following periodicals: The New York Times, Institutional Investor, Employee Benefit News, Bloomberg Magazine, and Dow Jones, publisher of The Wall Street Journal.
 
Mr. Zeiger has been published in the AICPA Wealth Management Insider, Trusts & Estates Magazine, Profit Sharing Magazine and has been a guest lecturer at NYU and an instructor at the College of Insurance. He has also been a featured speaker for the following groups: New York State Society of CPAs Trust and Estates Group, New York State Institute of Accountants, Massachusetts Society of CPAs, New Jersey State Society of CPAs personal financial planning committee, Connecticut State Bar Association, American Bankers Association, and Estate Planning Council of Nassau County. Mr. Zeiger received his B.S. Suny Albany School of Business, and Advanced Insurance Degree, Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania

Council Breakfast Meetings are held at the Westport Public Library (Arnold Bernhard Plaza – Levitt Pavilion Main Entrance), Westport, Connecticut, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. The library has asked that attendees arrive promptly at 8:00. They open the door for us at 8:00 even though the library doesn't open until 9:00. Since the library will open early to accommodate us, their Coffee Shop will not be open for service during our meeting. Please feel free to bring coffee, tea, bagels, etc. to the meeting. There is a Starbucks Coffee diagonally across from the Westport Library on the Post Road and Oscar’s Deli is located on Main Street.

We also request that “No Shows” be minimized.
 
If we must cancel a breakfast meeting, an email will be sent to all registrants for whom we have an email address and we will make every effort to contact all registrants by phone as well.
