We are pleased to announce that Greg Hammond, CFP®, CPA, President and Founder of Planned Giving Strategies, LLC, and President of Kelly Financial Group, will be the guest speaker on The Planned Giving Toolbox: Donor-Centric Strategies to Grow Your Business at our “members only” breakfast meeting on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., at The Westport Library.
 
Greg Hammond is a recognized charitable giving and financial educator, consultant, and speaker who provides behind the scenes assistance and second opinions on complex philanthropic plans to affluent individuals as well as board, staff and volunteer training sessions to nonprofit organizations. In 2008, Greg and his business partner, Scott Iles introduced The Donor Motivation Program to Connecticut – a cost effective program for nonprofit organizations and educational institutions that wish to improve upon, revive, or begin a Planned Giving Program. 
 
As a wealth advisor, Greg has counseled hundreds of individuals and families on drastically reducing their taxes, preserving wealth, increasing net worth, charitable and estate planning, and building a legacy. With over 20 years in the financial services industry, Greg, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional and Certified Public Accountant, along with his advisory group have helped divert over $750 million in taxes to charity. Greg regularly facilitates educational sessions to help individuals, families, and business owners protect the value of their estates, learn the role of life insurance in charitable giving, and address concerns in retirement.
 
For 3 years Greg co-hosted the radio show, “Planning for Tomorrow” on WTIC News Talk 1080AM, covering topics such as lifetime income, the economy, tips for financial success, and philanthropic planning. He has been interviewed on WTIC AM news, published a special report on nonprofit challenges distributed through AFP, spoken on Planned Giving at the 2010 and 2011 AFP CT Philanthropy Days, AFP Chapters, and The Planned Giving Group of CT. Greg was recently interviewed by the Wall Street Journal for “Earning Income While Making a Gift” and the Hartford Business Journal Nonprofit Notebook for “Planned Giving.”
 
Greg is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a B.A. in Accounting. He is a certified True Wealth Consultant, a member of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning (PPP), The Planned Giving Group of Connecticut (PGGCT), The Financial Planning Association (FPA), Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the International Association of Advisors in Philanthropy (AiP).
 
Greg served on the Financial Services Institute (FSI) Financial Advisor Council and contributes locally as a board member for PGGCT, Corporator for Connecticut Community Care, Inc., Treasurer for Westminster Presbyterian Church and Advisory Board member for The Connecticut Forum. Greg and his business partner, Scott Iles, also host an annual fundraising event for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Greg lives in West Hartford, CT with his wife Karen and their two daughters. When he is not working or spending time with his family, Greg enjoys volunteering, playing golf and tennis.
 
Council Breakfast Meetings are held at the Westport Public Library (Arnold Bernhard Plaza – Levitt Pavilion Main Entrance), Westport, Connecticut, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. The library has asked that attendees arrive promptly at 8:00. They open the door for us at 8:00 even though the library doesn't open until 9:00. Since the library will open early to accommodate us, their Coffee Shop will not be open for service during our meeting. Please feel free to bring coffee, tea, bagels, etc. to the meeting. There is a Starbucks Coffee diagonally across from the Westport Library on the Post Road and Oscar’s Deli is located on Main Street.

We also request that “No Shows” be minimized.
 
If we must cancel a breakfast meeting, an email will be sent to all registrants for whom we have an email address and we will make every effort to contact all registrants by phone as well. If you are unable to check your email or voice messages, please visit our website at www.epclfc.org where the cancellation announcement will be posted on our home page under “Next Meeting.” Except in unusual circumstances, we would know about the cancellation by 4:00 p.m. the afternoon prior to a breakfast meeting.
