We are pleased to announce that Von Sanborn and Alexis Gettier (both of Day Pitney LLP), Joanna Ostrem (Senior Vice President, Senior Director, Trusts, Estates & Wealth Management Services at Christie’s) and David Sleeman (Executive Director, Business Development at Winston Art Group), will be our guest speakers at our December 5th dinner meeting at Innis Arden Golf Club in Old Greenwich. Cash bar and cocktails will begin at 5:45 p.m., followed by dinner promptly at 6:30 p.m., speaker at 7:30 p.m., and we anticipate an end to the meeting between 8:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.
Our presenters will discuss various aspects of art law in the context of estate planning. This will include a discussion of what makes art unique in the estate planning context; how to protect and plan for art portfolios; how to authenticate, establish provenance for and sell art appropriately and efficiently; and how to navigate the particular family dynamics that can arise when art is involved.
