RESCHEDULED - BREAKFAST MEETING: Outsourcing Case Management for Special Needs Trust Beneficiaries

Date: Sunday, March 24, 2013
Time: 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
Location: Westport Public Library
Speaker: Helen Bosch & Erin Duques, Advocacy Services Dept., Vista Vocational & Life Skills Center

We are pleased to announce that we have rescheduled Helen Bosch and Erin Duques on behalf of the Advocacy Services Department of Vista Vocational & Life Skills Center, a non-profit with over 20 years of providing training and support to individuals with disabilities, to present at our “members only” breakfast meeting on Wednesday, January 16, 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., at The Westport Library.

Vista’s newly-created Advocacy Services Department, designed to assist trustees of supplemental needs trusts, will be introduced. Most trustees of special needs trusts are not social service professionals and do not possess the education and experience necessary to evaluate the living and working environment, services and benefits of special needs beneficiaries. Advocacy Services provides indispensable assistance to such trustees, including direct counseling of trust beneficiaries, on-site observation of the supports and environment, investigation of available disability programs, consultation with professionals and service providers, and regular written reviews of the special needs beneficiary's programs, services and supports.

Council Breakfast Meetings are held at the Westport Public Library (Arnold Bernhard Plaza – Levitt Pavilion Main Entrance), Westport, Connecticut, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.The library has asked that attendees arrive promptly at 8:00. They open the door for us at 8:00 even though the library doesn't open until 9:00. Since the library will open early to accommodate us, their Coffee Shop will not be open for service during our meeting. Please feel free to bring coffee, tea, bagels, etc. to the meeting. There is a Starbucks Coffee diagonally across from the Westport Library on the Post Road and Oscar’s Deli is located on Main Street.

Reservations to attend can be made by contacting Matt Bovino by email (MABovino@DavidsonDawson.com) or by telephone (203-966-8759); “first come, first served.” As a courtesy to those who attend, we request that cell phones be silenced during the session. We also request that “No Shows” be minimized.

If we must cancel a breakfast meeting, an email will be sent to all registrants for whom we have an email address and we will make every effort to contact all registrants by phone as well. If you are unable to check your email or voice messages, please visit our website at www.epclfc.org where the cancellation announcement will be posted on our home page under “Next Meeting.” Except in unusual circumstances, we would know about the cancellation by 4:00 p.m. the afternoon prior to a breakfast meeting.
